Mouthwatering Chili Cheese Dog

Ingredients:

8 hot dogs
8 hot dog buns
2 c. chili
2 c. shredded cheddar cheese
½ red or yellow onion, chopped

CHILI
1 lb ground beef
1 large onion, chopped
2 garlic cloves, minced
1 6oz can tomato paste
1 c. water
1 tbsp. sugar
1 tbsp. yellow mustard
1 tbsp. dried onion flakes
2 tsp. chili powder
1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
1 tsp. salt
½ tsp. celery seed
½ tsp. ground cumin
1 tsp. black pepper

Directions:

1.Brown ground beef in a skillet over medium heat. Add the onions and minced garlic. Once beef is cooked, add remaining ingredients and stir well to combine. Simmer low for 15 minutes.

2.While ground beef is cooking, preheat oven to 375 degrees F. Line a large baking pan neatly with tin foil and add hot dog buns followed by hot dogs inside. Once chili is complete, ladle approximately 1/3 cup of chili onto each hot dog followed by shredded cheddar cheese and onion.

3.Cover the entire pan with one sheet of tin foil and bake in the oven for approximately 30 minutes. Remove after 30 minutes and let sit for 5 minutes before removing foil. Use caution when removing foil as it will be very hot. We recommend using tongs or a spatula to remove hot dogs from the tray.
